Drive Cloning

Move to a bigger / faster drive with zero reinstall.

Upgrading to a bigger or faster drive and want a complete bootable copy of your current setup? Cloning makes a sector-by-sector duplicate, Windows, programs, settings, license keys, all of it, so the new drive boots exactly like the old one.

An Exact Bootable Copy

About Our Drive Cloning

You're moving to a bigger or faster drive and you don't want to start over, reinstalling Windows, hunting down programs, re-entering license keys, setting everything up again. Cloning skips all of that. It makes a complete, bootable duplicate of your current drive.

  • Same DayTurnaround
  • 💾$75Flat Rate
  • 🔁Boots The SameExact Copy

It's a flat $75. We duplicate the whole drive, Windows, your programs, settings, license keys, all of it, onto the new one, so the new drive boots up exactly like the old one. No reinstalling, no reactivating, no rebuilding your setup from scratch. If you're supplying the new drive, bring it in. If you need us to source one, we'll quote it.

Cloning is for migration: you're upgrading or replacing a drive and want a perfect copy on the new one. It's a one-time duplicate, not ongoing protection. If what you actually want is your files protected day to day against a drive failure, that's our Backup Setupdifferent job, different goal.

A clone saves you a full day of reinstalling Windows and chasing down programs and license keys. For $75, you get the new drive booting exactly like the old one, same desktop, same everything. People underestimate how much time that reinstall actually eats. We don't.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the questions we hear most often in the shop. Still stuck? Text us a photo and we'll get back to you fast.

What's the difference between cloning and a backup?

Cloning makes one exact, bootable copy of your drive, perfect for upgrading or migrating to a new drive. A backup is ongoing protection that keeps copying your files over time so a drive failure doesn't wipe you out. Cloning is a one-time move; backup is day-to-day insurance.

Will the new drive boot exactly like my old one?

Yes. That's the point of a clone. Windows, your programs, settings, and license keys all come over, so the new drive starts up to the same desktop you're used to, no reinstalling or reactivating.

Do I need to buy the new drive first?

You can supply your own drive or have us source one. If you're not sure what fits your machine, text us the make and model and we'll tell you what it takes and quote the drive.

Can you clone a drive that's starting to fail?

Often yes, but the sooner the better. A failing drive gets harder to clone as it degrades. If it's making noise or throwing errors, bring it in quickly so we can copy it while it's still readable.

Is cloning really same day?

Usually. The time depends on how much data is on the drive, but it's not a multi-day job. Work is backed by our 30-day warranty on parts and labor.
