Same Day
The fans roar like a jet on takeoff, the laptop is too hot to keep on your lap, and it shuts itself off in the middle of a game or a video call. That's heat, dust packed into the heatsink and thermal paste that dried out years ago.
It's $25, and it's one of the best-value things we do. We pull the machine apart, clear the dust out of every fan and heatsink, scrape off the old hardened thermal paste, and apply fresh paste between the chip and the cooler. If a fan is grinding, seized, or rattling, we'll tell you what a replacement costs before we do anything.
We check temperatures before and after so you can see the difference, not just take our word for it. Running hot isn't only annoying; sustained heat shortens the life of your processor and graphics chip. Catching it early is cheap. Letting it cook is not.
People live with a screaming, overheating laptop for a year because they think it's dying. Half the time it's a $25 clean and repaste, and it runs quiet and cool again. We'll tell you honestly if it's just dust or if something's actually failing.
Text us what it's doing, roaring fans, shutdowns, too hot to touch, and we'll tell you what it needs.
If you don't see yours listed, just text us a photo, we work on most makes and models.
We reply during business hours (Mon–Fri 8a–5p). For an even faster answer, text a photo to (870) 860-8822.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Quick answers to the questions we hear most often in the shop. Still stuck? Text us a photo and we'll get back to you fast.
Almost always dust and old thermal paste. As both build up, the cooler can't move heat away, so the fans spin full speed trying to keep up. A clean and repaste usually brings it back to quiet.
Full teardown, cleaning every fan and heatsink, removing the old thermal paste, and applying fresh paste. If a fan is physically failing and needs replacing, that part is extra, we'll quote it before we proceed.
If the shutdowns are from overheating, which is the most common cause when they happen under load, then yes, this usually fixes it. We check temps before and after to confirm the problem was heat.
For most laptops, every couple of years, sooner if you're in a dusty house or have pets. If it's already loud and hot, don't wait, heat wears out the expensive chips over time.
Most thermal cleanings are same day. Bring it in or text us first so we know it's coming. Work is covered by our 30-day warranty on parts and labor.
