Hardware Repair & Upgrades

Cracked screens, dead ports, failed drives, memory, fans.

Dead RAM slot, failing GPU, busted laptop hinge, or a power button that doesn't power anything? We diagnose the actual failed part, source quality replacements, and upgrade what's worth upgrading instead of selling you a new machine.

Fix The Failed Part

About Our Hardware Repair & Upgrades

A RAM slot that won't read a stick, a graphics card throwing artifacts on screen, a laptop hinge cracking the case open, or a power button that does nothing when you press it. Real hardware fails, and most of the time it's one part, not the whole machine.

Labor starts at $50, and the part goes on top once we know exactly what failed. We don't swap parts hoping something sticks, we diagnose the actual failure first, then source a quality replacement and give you a real total before we order anything. Turnaround is usually 24 to 72 hours, mostly depending on how fast a part comes in.

Some failures are worth fixing and some aren't, and we'll tell you which is which. If a repair costs more than the machine is worth, we'll say so. If a small upgrade gets you years more out of it, more RAM, an SSD, we'll point you there instead. Honest call, every time.

The big-box stores will quote you a new computer for a $40 part. We'd rather fix the one thing that broke. A failed power jack or a bad RAM stick doesn't mean your machine is done, and when it genuinely is done, we'll tell you that too instead of selling you a repair that isn't worth it.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the questions we hear most often in the shop. Still stuck? Text us a photo and we'll get back to you fast.

How do you know which part actually failed?

We diagnose before we order anything. That means testing components, checking the symptoms against the hardware, and isolating the real failure, not swapping parts and hoping. You get a confirmed cause and a real quote before we proceed.

Is it cheaper to just buy a new computer?

Sometimes, and we'll tell you straight when it is. But a single failed part, a power jack, a RAM stick, a fan, is usually far cheaper to fix than replacing the whole machine. If a repair isn't worth it, we'll say so.

Why does this take 24 to 72 hours?

Diagnosis is quick. The wait is usually the part, sourcing a quality replacement and getting it in. Once it's here, the repair itself is often fast. We'll give you a timeframe when we quote you.

Can you upgrade my computer while you're in there?

Yes. If you're already opening it up for a repair, adding RAM or an SSD is a good time to do it. We'll recommend upgrades that are actually worth the money for your machine, not ones that aren't.

What if you can't fix it?

If a machine isn't worth repairing, we tell you before you spend money. Repairs we do complete are backed by our 30-day warranty on parts and labor, in-shop at Highland Square.
