About Our 3D Printing Services

We have a 3D printer at the bench and we use it. The $5 SSD adapter we sell to fit 2.5-inch SSDs into 3.5-inch bays? We 3D print those in-house. We can do the same for whatever odd plastic part you need.

Common requests: replacement knobs that broke off old electronics, mounting brackets for security cameras or projectors, adapter plates for retrofitting old hardware into new cases, custom cable management clips, lost laptop feet, replacement battery covers, small enclosures for hobby electronics.

You can bring in: an existing part to copy, a sketch with dimensions, an STL file you found online, or just a description of what you need. We can also help you find a free / paid model on Thingiverse or Printables and print it for you.

Half the cool fixes we do are 3D-printed. Customer brings in a 10-year-old projector with a broken mount lug, 30 minutes of measuring, 3 hours of printing, $15 in materials, projector saved.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the questions we hear most often in the shop. Still stuck? Text us a photo and we'll get back to you fast.

How much will my custom part cost?

Depends on size, material, and print time. A simple bracket like an SSD adapter is $5. A medium enclosure for a Raspberry Pi might be $15–25. A complex multi-piece project with overhangs and supports could be $40+. We always quote materials + time before starting.

Do I need a 3D model?

No. We can work from a sketch with measurements, a photo of the broken part, an existing part to copy, or just a description of what you need. We can also pull free models from Thingiverse / Printables / MakerWorld and print those.

How strong are 3D-printed parts?

Strong enough for most non-load-bearing applications: brackets, mounts, enclosures, replacement plastic parts. Not as strong as injection-molded plastic. We choose material based on use, PLA for indoor stuff, PETG when you need heat resistance or impact strength.

Can you print large items like a chair or shelf?

No. Our printer has a build volume of about 25 cm cubed (about 10 inches). Anything larger we cannot print as a single piece, though we could print parts that bolt together for some larger projects. Furniture-scale stuff is beyond what we do.

Will you print firearm or weapon parts?

No. We will not print receivers, suppressors, magazines, jigs, or anything else firearm-related. Hard line for the shop.
